Problems I don’t work with

Are there some problems which Pete Luce does not work with?

Yes, because there are some areas in which some other practitioners have more experience and expert knowledge. Nobody knows everything! The common issues I don’t work with are childbirth, sports performance, sexual problems, sexual deviance, and dental phobia. There are also some problems for which psychotherapy and hypnotherapy cannot usually help, such as extreme jealousy.

Can hypnotherapy help with childbirth?

Hypnosis is very effective for preparing women who will soon be giving birth.
But the best people for this therapy are women who are trained midwives, who have done specialist hypno-birthing training.
You can find hypno-birthing practitioners by just searching online for “hypnobirthing practitioner near me.”

Can hypnotherapy help with sexual problems?

Hypnotherapy for sexual problems can be very effective, but you’d be best off seeing a specialist qualified sex therapist who specialises in these problems.

Can hypnotherapy help with fear of the dentist or dental phobia?

It certainly can, but you’d be much better off seeing a dentist who also does hypnosis. They can prepare you for the dental work and also continue the hypnosis during the dental procedures. You can find contact details for hypnosis-trained dentists through the website of the British Society for Clinical and Academic Hypnosis HERE.

Can hypnotherapy improve sports performance?

Yes, hypnotherapy has been used by many elite sports champions, but it’s not my field of expertise.
If this is what you want, I suggest you look for a hypnotherapist who also has experience in coaching, such as Mr Shem Lopez in Exeter.

Can hypnotherapy help to overcome sexual deviance?

Our society is nowadays much more tolerant and accepting of sexual diversity.
However some activities will always be illegal because informed consent has not been given.
If you’re afraid you might do something illegal, you should contact the Lucy Faithfull Foundation which offers specialist help for this problem. Click HERE for their website.

Can hypnotherapy help a person who is extremely jealous?

Therapy cannot usually help in extreme jealousy, especially where it’s the other partner who is seeking help for the jealous person.
Relationships involving extreme jealousy often end in serious violence.
So if your partner is abnormally jealous you should maybe see a solicitor rather than a therapist.
And you must go directly to the police if there’s been threatened or actual violence.
Remember that in this country a woman is far more likely to be killed by her partner than by anybody else.

I have another question.
